Anger can interrupt your life in a number of different ways. You may lash out verbally and hurt another individual. You may lash out physically. Many times individuals realise that they have anger problems, but not how to solve them. There are rare cases in which the person may be remanded into anger management therapy or sessions in order to deal with their issues. If you suffer from anger, but want to learn how to use anger management before things get out of control hypnosis may work. You may also find that after anger management sessions with therapists you still need a helping hand, which is where self hypnosis can come into play.
We will look at both of these options to help you find the relaxation you need in situations and reduce your anger. Relaxation is a key to anger management. By learning to relax in certain situations in which your temper gets out of control you have a better handle on the situation in general.
Hypnosis teaches how to relax and then it teaches how to solve the problem at hand. For example in self hypnosis you may listen to a CD that puts you in a trance. During the trance you are then given suggestions on how you can improve your overall anger, rather than losing control. Suggestions in this case may teach breathing, picturing different scenarios, or just going somewhere else in your mind that can be calm and relax you.
Self hypnosis is not the only method you have to be hypnotised. There are hypnotists that will put you in a trance or in effect hypnotise you. These qualified individuals will work through the relaxation part with you by having you picture a calm place. They will then offer suggestions to you in the same manner as the CD.
Being hypnotised does not always work. In other words you as the patient have to be willing to be hypnotised and then you have to be open to the suggestions made. If you don’t want the help you will not be helped. Also if you don’t believe in the hypnosis it will not work.
Not every method of hypnosis will work for you. Sometimes CD’s work better than going to a hypnotist session; it really depends on who you are. The reason a CD can be the better way to go sometimes is because you can use it whenever you feel the need. You may feel anger coming on you, but if you can’t reach your therapist or hypnotist then you might have issues, whereas the CD is available when you need it.
Relaxation is the key to remaining calm in a situation that can make you angry. By realising your triggers though, you can have suggestions that work more for you than others. In fact you may want a personalised CD or sessions, just to make sure that your needs are covered. Personalised suggestions work better than generalisations because everyone is different. What triggers your anger may not affect another individual and the same can be said of you. The main thing is that hypnosis may work for you.
